Documents you need to renew your Vehicle Fitness Certificate
Gather these before you start. Renew with: Regional Transport Office (RTO).

RC copy
Registration certificate.

Valid insurance and PUC
Usually checked at the inspection.

Previous fitness certificate
For reference and the due date.

Fee receipt
Paid on the Parivahan portal or at the RTO.

Vehicle inspection
The vehicle may have to be physically inspected.
Before you file
- Commercial vehicles running without a valid fitness certificate can be fined or impounded.
- Start at least 30 days before the expiry date so a rejected form does not push you past it.
- Requirements and fees can differ by state or city. Confirm the final list on the official site or with the issuing office.
- Keep clear PDF or JPG scans of every document ready before you begin.
